The species displayed several bizarre features, most prominent of which was a pair of bull like horns above the creature's eyes. Carnotaurs were related to a primitive group of theropods called Abelisaurids. This relationship probably puts Carnotaurus closer to Allosaurus than to Tyrannosaurus rex, though it doesn't appear that any of these
